# Mega Rayquaza ex Returns: Pokémon TCG “Mega Evolution—Delta Reign” Confirmed for November 6 Launch
The Pokémon Company International has confirmed that its next Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) expansion, titled *Mega Evolution — Delta Reign*, will hit participating retailers worldwide on **November 6, 2026**. Announced as a media alert on August 20, 2026, the set lands squarely inside the franchise’s ongoing Mega-themed product line and, most importantly for competitive players, brings back one of the most beloved dragons in the game.
## Mega Rayquaza ex returns
The headline draw for *Mega Evolution — Delta Reign* is the return of **Mega Rayquaza ex**. According to the official announcement, this is the first time Mega Rayquaza has appeared in the Pokémon TCG since the *XY — Ancient Origins* expansion. It joins three other Mega-evolution cards already confirmed for the set: **Mega Golurk ex**, **Mega Malamar ex**, and **Mega Golisopod ex**.
Mega Rayquaza is officially classified as a “Sky High” Pokémon, a trait that has historically given it a commanding presence at the top of the competitive ladder. Its inclusion signals that Tournament Play structures will once again have to account for a genuinely powerful option, and collectors will likely chase the set’s Rayquaza cards aggressively from day one.
## The Legendary Stadium mechanic
Beyond the star Pokémon, the set introduces a fresh board feature called **Legendary Stadium**. The announcement explains that Legendary Stadiums are built by pairing two separate Stadium cards together. When placed side by side, the two halves form a single, extended piece of artwork — a design touch aimed at making decks more visually distinctive on the table.
Booster packs that contain a Legendary Stadium ship with both halves inside, meaning players will need to open and sort to find matching pairs. The set contains **Six Stadium cards that combine into three Legendary Stadiums**, each promising to shake up strategy by introducing new board effects players haven’t seen before.
## What’s inside the box
The official card breakdown for *Mega Evolution — Delta Reign* lists the following:
– **Four Mega Evolution Pokémon ex**
– **Six Pokémon ex** total
– **Six Stadium cards** (forming three Legendary Stadiums)
– **14 illustration rare** Pokémon
– **17 ultra rare** Pokémon and Trainer cards

Fans looking to complete their collections can find the expansion across multiple product formats, including standard booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and a range of themed collections available at retailers worldwide.
## Playing before launch
Pokémon doesn’t leave players waiting long. **Prerelease tournaments** for *Mega Evolution — Delta Reign* begin **October 24, 2026** at participating independent stores as part of the Play! Pokémon program, giving early adopters a chance to build decks from the new packs before the official release.
For those who prefer to play digitally, the expansion becomes available in **Pokémon TCG Live starting November 5, 2026** — one day before the physical launch. The digital version will support iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, and players who log in will be able to collect and battle with the new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex while earning exclusive in-game bonuses.
With a strong Mega lineup, a novel Stadium mechanic, and a tight two-week runway from prerelease to retail, *Mega Evolution — Delta Reign* is shaping up to be one of the more strategically interesting sets of the year.
